How to Get Paid to Keep Up With the News

I don’t know about you, but I am a bit of a news junkie. I try not to be, but I can’t resist keeping up with the news… especially financial news. And keeping up with the news can be expensive. It seems like almost everything is behind a paywall these days. Well, not for me! I’ve figured out how to get paid to keep up with the news and you can too.

Read the news on Bing. Have you signed up for Microsoft Rewards yet? Microsoft gives you points (which you can convert to gift cards) for searching with Bing. And it turns out, clicking on news stories on the front of bing.com counts for points! Microsoft will also give you points for taking news trivia quizzes, and the better you do, the more points you earn. You can redeem Microsoft Rewards points for Amazon gift cards (that’s what I do), Target gift cards, Walmart gift cards, Uber Eats gift cards, DoorDash gift cards, and various fast food gift cards. You can also use your Microsoft Rewards points to donate to charity or for Xbox gaming.

Watch the news with Swagbucks and MyPoints. I have to say, I’m much more of a news reader than a news watcher, but sometimes I watch the news when I’m super lazy or bored. Both Swagbucks and MyPoints have news stories under their video sections that you can earn some money watching. I do this at least once a week, just to relax and earn a little more cash.

Of course, you won’t earn significant money for getting paid to keep up with the news. I make $5 from it each month on a bad month, maybe $20 on a really good month. But that’s okay. It’s something I would be doing anyway, so I may as well get paid to do it!
